Open Office Workspaces

During our time working in corporate interiors, most new office designs were based on the Open Office format. Researchers on the subject suggested that large bays of low-wall workstations would support collaboration and office communication. For some companies, the transition from high-walled cubicles to smaller workstations was extremely successful, especially in the creative fields. Other companies claim productivity has reduced due to lack of privacy and increased distractions.

To successful implement open workspaces, we develop rationalized layouts that accommodates the necessary furniture systems and technology while providing areas of privacy and collaboration. The layouts we developed at IBM Astor Place were so vast that we inevitably worked with an IBM Branding team to create a unique wayfinding system that helped their employees navigate the complex.
